Updated February 6th
I am back on track with this homework page. Sorry for the delay between the Yosemite trip and a tweak in the program I have not been able to update the site. We have now started the Biome project. The students have received the timeline, the outline , and the directions. They have been taken to the library to complete their research on the biome of their choice. PROJECT
The Biome Project has now started. The outline is due Feb 15th. The rough draft is due Feb 22. The final draft is due Feb. 29. The Diarama is due March 7th. We will be working on the Diarama in class. Please start looking for shoe boxes so that the diarama can be built. The boxes are one thing I can not collect for all my students. Start looking around your homes for plants and animals that can be used. We have a supply that have been left over from previous projects but they might not have what your child wants.
MAGNET
The students, teachers and chaperones had a fantastic time at Yosemite. It snowed over 2 feet while we were there. We had some problems with the trip home due to the weather but all students arrived safely. We found out the the ice skating at night was $8.00 instead of $5.00. So Ms. Dipley and I had to use our credit cards to pay for the different. If your child did ice skate could you please send in $3.00 to cover the extra cost. Thank you.
The Globe project will be going in February 13 and 14. We will need chaperones to escort the students to the beach. The times for 2nd is 8:15 to 10:01 and 3rd period is 10:25 to 12:08 . If you can chaperone during your childs class please contact me ar lcady@smmusd.org.
Seminar sheets have been passed out and the students need six by the end of the year to move to the eighth grade Magnet class. The students will reapply in March. The students need all project in and receive at least a B in class.
